A Week's Update
Its nearly three weeks of fasting..... another week to go before we celebrate Hari Raya Adil Fitri or as they say it here "Eid Mubarak". After having two weeks of boring morning which I normally spend catching up on my sleep, at last Rohaya, Leha & myself went shopping together actually window shopping on Tuesday. We wanted to look around at some material shops which normally is opened at 9.00am but unfortunately I guess it was a bit too early for them to open during Ramadan. So we ended up at our Cik Oja's house to pluck some tapioca leaves, bird eye chili & screw pine leaves. After leaving Oja's place we went to Gubrah to see some materials. I found a shop that was selling/tailored "Abaya". After looking around I managed to find an "Abaya" for my mother which I hope she will like it.
Our weekend iftar & terawih gathering this time around was held at Sazali & Leha's house at Ghala. We had a lot of variety of malaysian kuih like Apam Balik, Tepung Pelita, Samosa, Cekodok Pisang, Kuih Ubi Kayu, Jelly, Pancake & two types of begedil. For main course it was more of a chicken week. We had a few types of chicken dishes which surprisingly finished. I keep forgetting to bring the camera so as usual there's no pictures. After terawih, the gang was in the Raya mood. Haji & Razak was singing raya songs and the rest of the gang also joined in singing.
Since we had so much to eat, we decided to have a very simple and light sahur. So for sahur, we had our favourite pizza and shawarma for "Yahya".
Yesterday, we decided to have something different for iftar. So we had a western theme.......... mushroom soup, salad, steak, shish kebab, bbq chicken, garlic bread & cheese bread. As plan earlier with Rohaya, I was suppose to meet her at Mutrah at 9.15pm. I wanted to buy a few jubah for my mother since Syed was going back. The drive was ok but we had problems finding for parking. The place was so packed. Since Rohaya & Haji were unable to get a parking spot, they decided to go back. We were quite lucky to find a spot which was a bit far. Since we were already there, we decided to go ahead and look for the jubah. After buying, we decided to walk a long the shop but we got lost trying to find our way back to the car walking in circles. I remember the last time, I went to Mutrah with Hamzah we got lost also finding our way to the car.
